Chef and owner Wes Krimmer brings over 20 years of restaurant experience to downtown West Bend. His passion for great food combined with his experience in the culinary industry are two of the fundamental reasons why Krimmer’s is truly an exceptional restaurant in a category all its own.
In addition to a business and marketing degree, Wes is also a graduate from the culinary program at Waukesha Technical College and has a wide range of experience in his field from fast food and catering to fine-dining and hospitality. Wes began his fine dining career with the Mo’s establishment. He gained a majority of his fine-dining experience in Milwaukee having spent four years at Mason Street Grill in the Pfister Hotel and four years at the Hilton Hotel Chophouse.
When he’s not putting in endless hours at his own establishment, Wes enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelsey, and their three children, driving his treasured 1929 classic Ford Model A or attending local vintage toy shows and music entertainment .
For someone so motivated, all the hard work of being a business owner and dedicated family man may seem to come effortlessly to this local entrepreneur. Although Krimmer’s Restaurant is Wes’s first independent business venture, it is obvious he has only begun to demonstrate what is possible when you never give up on a dream.
Though born in Jacksonville, Florida, Kelsey Krimmer still considers herself a West Bend native, having lived in the city most of her life. After graduating from West Bend East and studying for 1 year at local college UW-Washington County, Kelsey moved to Milwaukee to earn her Bachelor’s at UW-Milwaukee. During college, she worked at several downtown Milwaukee restaurants—most notably, Sabor Brazilian Steakhouse where she gained the skills and knowledge of fine-dining which she has used to help develop the dining room atmosphere that Krimmer’s Restaurant is known for. From the fine points of hospitality to knowledge of great wines, Kelsey assists the wait-staff at Krimmer’s in providing a unique experience for guests.
In addition to her role at Krimmer’s, Kelsey also has a full-time career as a Buyer at a local manufacturing company and has 3 young children. During her spare time, Kelsey enjoys time spent with her family and trying new recipes in her home kitchen. She also loves fashion and live music and will read anything from classic novels to science fiction.
After four years in business, it’s clear that Krimmer’s Restaurant is a place that people return to time and again for great food, but there is another reason guests keep coming back; ambiance. Although a more subtle characteristic of a great restaurant, ambiance is what defines fine dining and at Krimmer’s, Kelsey and the staff offer guests a unique experience with carefully timed dinner courses, attention to detail and a personal touch that guests will remember.
"The best deal in the area is the $25 Monday Night special of salad, entree, and a dessert.
The chopped salad and wedge salad are both excellent. And your choices of Steak , Salmon or Chicken are all perfectly done ... Add in a desert of the day or a warm chocolate chip cookie and a freshly brewed carafe of coffee and you have a perfect night.
Not a drinker but my GF of 46 years says their drinks are perfectly mixed and she found a wine she really liked."
"Brought a colleague here on Wednesday night and our server was fantastic. She explained the menu to us, what her favorite items are, how the food is prepared and descriptions on the wine selections. We each had a glass of wine, shared the calamari (whatever the lemon sauce is they serve on the bottom of the plate is delightful), shared the lobster mac & cheese and I had the sea bass and she had a filet. We could not stop talking about how good the food was. The sea bass is probably the best piece of fish I've ever eaten.
As my luck would have it, my boss had planned a dinner for our group outing to be here last night as well! Again we had calamari and I had the sea bass, but we also had the steak forks (truly is a piece of steak on a fork), and oysters on a half shell and oysters Rockefeller. Both the caeser salad and chopped salads are good too!
Can't wait to come back!"
"A great little place in downtown West Bend! You have to try the filet! I'm pretty picky when it comes to red meat but this was cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth! I wish I lived closer to Krimmer's because I'd go there more often! If you're in the area, you must try!"
"My wife and I love Krimmers! Great wine menu and their cuts are always A+. Amazing service every time. Owners usually onsite and/or in the kitchen and it really shows. It's not easy to nail scallops and they do it every time. Never had a piece of meat cooked incorrectly. Desserts are unbelievable also."
"There is no comparison to the quality, creativity, and taste of the food we enjoyed at Krimmer's. Appetizers are decadent and delicious, especially the Oysters Rockefeller, creamed corn with bacon, and tempura asparagus. The filet was very good, and the sea bass was exceptional. Even the chopped salad, which is included in the entrees, is very good. Atmosphere and service are great - the mater dei of the house keeps everything running smoothly.
For the best experience in West Bend, you need to try Krimmer's!"
"Had a wonderful visit at this establishment!! Stopped in for a quick appetizer and stayed forever! Started off with a chopped salad then moved into a few bites of Oysters Rockefeller, Biscuits and Gravy and Lobster Mac-n-Cheese. All were superb! Finishes with strawberry Creme Brûlée and the in house Made Donuts. All were great!"
